Cornwall
Cornwall has some classy tourist sights to set against its ancient heritage. The Eden Project is a revolutionary environmental attraction, the Tate St Ives heads up a vibrant contemporary arts scene. You also have the new National Maritime Museum Cornwall at Falmouth. A terrific destination for your dog friendly holidays.
However these man-made attractions cannot rival the show put on by nature in this spectacular county. There’s the mini wilderness of the Bodmin Moor with its rock formations and extraordinary subtropical gardens.
It’s the coast however that is the real draw and is wonderful place for pet friendly holidays. With fishing ports like Loos, Fowey and Falmouth. Further west, the Lizard and Penwith peninsulas attempt to outdo each in striking coastal scenery. Find a dog friendly cottage, holiday home or hotel near the splendour of Kynance Cove or the thrilling Land’s End.
The Atlantic coast from Perranporth to Bude is surfing territory. Newquay is the centre of the scene. Try the restaurants of Padstow, explore the ruins at Tintagel or walk your dog along the wonderful South West Coast Path.
Finally, beyond the peninsula, lay the Isles of Scilly, a cluster of dreamy, low-lying islands characterised by sunshine, flowers and gleaming white sands.
